Yesterday was all about amazing raw desserts, but today we’re honouring the chilly season (for those of us here in Oz, anyway) and talking warming winter treats. Cooler weather calls for us to warm our bodies up from the inside out, and one of the best and tastiest ways to do this is with yummy healthy puddings.

Here are three of my favourite winter desserts – puddings every which way …

Yesterday I gave you the 411 on raw desserts – the low-down on why it’s possible to eat sweet treats every day and not feel guilty. You’re welcome. Today is all about virtually dishing up my favourite raw desserts. Some are my own recipes, and some are from my favourite healthy foodies. These are the treats I turn to whenever I have to prepare a dish for a dinner party and really want to impress the pants off anyone who scoffs behind my back at my unconventional eating habits.

Get out a pad and pen, jot down your shopping list, and prepare to throw your taste buds a rager.

I spoke at a business network high tea recently, (there’s me chatting about eating organic wholefoods while the ladies all ate sugar-laden cup cakes) and I was asked to share the “naughtiest” food I eat. My answer was this: I never eat anything naughty … however I do eat dessert pretty much every day. You see, when your sweet treats come from nature, in organic whole food form, they’re never naughty. So, this week is dedicated to The Healthy Dessert. Over the next couple of days I’m going to share with you my favourite sweet treats – cooked and uncooked.

If you follow me on Instagram, it’s no secret that I have a love affair with a little organic vegan café here on the Sunshine Coast called Ground. The day they opened their doors in Buderim, all of my prayers for a healthy and yummy café with impeccable integrity were answered. Ground does everything right – from the meals and desserts they create, to the produce they use, and even the water they use to prepare everything. Plus, the two young owners – James and Monique – are the most kind and genuine people ever.

Not only am I super pumped to share this Q&A with Monique with you, but I’m beyond excited that Monique agreed to share one of my favourite recipes from Ground. Every time I go there (which is every week) I order either the Sunflower Stack or the Bruschetta – both of which are made on top of the sunflower bread you will learn how to make in today’s recipe.

I’m a little bit in love with this week’s Foodie Friday. I stumbled across the blog, This Rawsome Vegan Life, a couple of months ago, and ever since I’ve been both enamored and in awe of it’s Canadian creator, Emily von Euw.

Her recipes are the most creative and drool-inducing I’ve ever seen, her photographs are incredible quality, and her words are witty and wise. Did I mention that Em is only 19? Man, when I was 19 the only thing I could cook was pumpkin soup. From a can. And even then I would over cook it.

Stereotypically, models are portrayed as extremely beautiful but also extremely unhealthy. Russian supermodel Valentina Zelyaeva only lives up to one half of this stereotype, and it’s clear which one. Valentina is a fashion model, mostly known as being the face of Ralph Lauren. She’s also a world traveller, yoga lover, raw food enthusiast, a nature fanatic and one of my favourite people to follow on Instagram for healthy inspiration.

Amanda Rootsey and I were introduced years ago by a mutual friend and bonded over, among other things, the fact that we were both diagnosed with cancer in our early 20s. We both thought that we had been cut down in our prime – at the time Amanda was travelling through Europe and working as a model. We’ve stayed friends over the years, witnessing each other grow through the necessary trials that are part of the cancer healing process.

I don’t even know where to start when it comes to an appropriate introduction for Rachel MacDonald. On paper, she is the creator of the amazing blog In Spaces Between. She’s also a brilliant life and blog coach, and has the most dewy clear skin I’ve ever seen in real life. On a deeper level, Rach is one of the most genuine, kind, positive, gorgeous souls I’ve ever met, and I’m grateful every day to be able to call her one of my besties.

I’m so thrilled to share Rachel’s Foodie insights with you. I know you will love her just as much as I do!
