Patience has never been my strong suit. I’ve always despised the process involved in getting somewhere or creating something and when things take longer than I want, I can become very antsy. It happened when I was a little girl and I quit jazz ballet because I didn’t want to learn the steps – I just wanted to dance already, and it’s happening still to this day. Being such a big lesson I clearly need to learn, the universe keeps putting me in situations where I have the chance to learn it.Read More
I go through phases with my books. When I first started educating myself about wellness, I devoured every nutrition book I could find. Then, I started reading spiritual tomes non-stop. And then, I didn’t want to read anything besides fiction that had nothing to do with work. Now, I’m revisiting the foodie books. Full circle.Read More

It’s that time of year again here in Australia. Every time we turn on the telly we’re inundated with pleas to rush to the doctor to have a flu jab. God forbid we let our immune systems do their jobs! It peeves me off something fierce.
Our bodies are equipped for protection. When we do right by them, they’ll carry us through winter without too much of a hitch. Sure, we may get a minor cold, the sniffles, or a fever, but that isn’t really anything to panic over. These are just symptoms of our bodies cleansing themselves and bringing themselves back to homeostasis. When we suppress this process with drugs – or try to stop it from occurring altogether with a vaccine – we’re messing with a natural process that really only has our best interest at heart. The band-aid is applied and we haven’t dealt with the root cause.Read More
Today is extremely bittersweet – and not just because we’re making a smoothie with cacao! This is the final episode of the original healthtalks. The show will be back for a third season, but it will look a little different. Mel, Sam and I have decided to step back and just take on guest host roles from time to time so that we’re able to focus more on our individual projects.Read More
Woo hoo! My brand spankin’ new online digs are finally ready to show off. My creative team and I have been working away at this make-over for months, and I’m so excited that she’s finally ready for you to explore. This website is such a massive part of me that it actually feels like one of my limbs or organs. I started blogging back in April 2010, a couple of weeks before I went to the Gerson clinic in Mexico to embark on my complete lifestyle transformation. My blog baby has been by my side throughout the whole rollercoaster ride of a journey – through the soul-soaring highs and the tantrum-throwing lows. As I’ve grown and evolved, my little piece of internet realty has been growing and evolving in almost exact unison.Read More
I’m such a floozy when it comes to crushing on food blogs, but it’s hard to stay committed when there are so many amazing ones out there! My latest crush is Lauren Glucina from Ascension Kitchen. She has the killer combo – mouth-watering recipes decorated by stunning photographs and easy-to-digest information to explain why the dishes are so good for you.
Lauren is a raw foodie from Sydney whose enthusiasm for food and skill for turning it into art had me at the first click of her site. I hope you love her stuff just as much.Read More
