Perfect timing. I have been thinking about doing this for sometime but wanted more info. Are these brushes just the same as the brushes you buy to scrub yourself while showering or is there a difference? Thanks for Healthtalks, fantastic!
Does it have to be dry? I found it was too rough so I bought one with plastic bristles and do it during my shower. Btw hoping to go to Gerson clinic in Mexico in a few weeks with my mom (she has tongue cancer). Your site has
been a wealth of information for us. Thank you!
Sending you love.
How long does your morning routine take Jess?
Simone » It takes me 2 hours at the moment. I wake up at 5.30 and breakfast is at 7.30 x
Hey Jess, do you have a recent post of your morning routine?
Dry body brushing is so invigorating! You just know you’re doing something good for yourself. Thanks for sharing this with others who may not know about it.
i have been dry body brushing for sometime now and it does feel good i like doing it but as far as the cellulite goes i havent seen any result in it going away. how long do you think it takes for that to set in?
Oh I love this idea and wasnt to sure if you could everyday, now I know and I am going to start a morning routine, thanks Jess your site is fabulous and helping me re find my inner goddess and earthmum…
Hi Jess and Mel, I know you begin at extremities and work towards heart, but what is the movement – circles? And how much pressure? Thanks!i
How hard do the bristtles need to be? Btw, you are my rock while I wait results to see if I have cancer in three different areas. If it wasn’t for you, I would be down in the dumps. Thanks!
Thanks so much Jess and Mel! Have been wanting to try dry body brushing for a while, but have been a bit unsure about how do go about it. The benefits sound unreal! Thank you ladies!
Hi Jess and Mel, loved this segment today! Funny thing is I went out this morning and got a brush to do some body brushing and when I was having my lunch I was checking my emails and watched today’s Healthtalks video
perfect timing!! Can’t wait to start incorporating this in my morning routine
Thanks for the tips on body brushing. I have been doing it a month now and was not sure if I was doing it right, so thanks for the heads up girls xx
One day I’ll have time for so many things in the morning, just have to get studies out of my way
I use a hemp mitten for dry brushing – reckon it’ll yield the same effect!?
Hi there. Do you have a post on clay eating? I can’r seem to find it. Thank you!
Wendy MacKinnon » Hi Wendy, I sure do! Here you go: http://www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au/2012/08/ive-started-eating-clay-you-should-too/ x
Wow, Jess! Much appreciation for your quick response. I totally admire you. You’re a true inspiration & you are one of the only blogs I follow
Besidea Kris Carr & David Wolfe. Thank you!
Wendy macKinnon » Thank you so much Wendy! x
Hi Jess,
Love all of the health talks! Can you do the brushing in the shower as well or does it not have the same effect? Thank you!
Julie » Thanks Julie! It doesn’t have quite the same effect – dry is best. x
Getting into the habit of daily dry-brushing. This is such a great reminder and of course, LOVE the Health Talks series! xx!
Got my dry brush on a cruise. I just started using it a few days ago and already see an improvement in my skin tone, and I have less cellulite.
Love body brushing! Do women need to avoid their chest and neck areas? I read this on a naturopaths blog.
Also, Jes, why do you eat clay before oil pulling? I thought this had to be done on an empty stomach?
Thanks
Hi Jess, I just stumbled across your site and am blown away. You’re a great story and the fact you’re using your story to help others is inspiring in itself. I particularly love the mind/body connection your make to wellness as I see it to be not only the most overlooked but most powerful influence we can have on our health. Keep up the great work ….just out to buy a brush, us blokes want to be healthy too!
Hey!
Just discovered your site recently and really love it! It has been added to my daily reads. There are so many interesting and beneficial things we can do on a daily basis to improve health but sometimes i get bogged down on what is best, what works etc. You may have already done this and if so I apologize as I am new but I would love to hear what your daily routine is from start to finish and why you chose specific things or if there are other things you are thinking about incorporating. It seems like you write about separate things in different posts but one post with everything you think is best or most important to add to one’s day would be amazing. Thanks!
Hi, can you advise on the technique – is it strokes (long or short) or circles (large or small) for the technique? How much pressure (light/medium/firm?) and do we need to avoid neck/chest areas? Thanks!
Samantha » Hi Samantha, it’s long sweeping stroked on limbs, and then I go in circles over my bum and thighs. It’s a medium pressure and then light over your chest, neck and face. x
Hi, I was advised during chemo not to use milk thistle (to help support my liver in detoxing) and any massage/stimulation of my lymph. That was 2 years ago now and I’m really wanting to try to detox my system as I still feel sluggish and yuk! Would you recommend dry body brushing for this?
Thanks!
