I had so much fun chatting to Jayme Barrett. Not only is she one of the bubbliest, most gorgeous people I’ve had the pleasure to interview, but she is so full of gems of wisdom that are guaranteed to inspire.
Jayme is the author of the best-selling book Feng Shui Your Life. She is an expert on feng shui and inspired living, specialising in energy techniques for personal fulfillment, prosperity and integrated health.
In this clip, Jayme talks about:
+ The crucial and often over-looked factor when it comes to lifestyle transformation.

I love this. I have always felt so porous when it comes to my outside environment – if my room/house/car is messy, I cannot help but be energetically affected by it…
Actually, at this very moment, I am meant to be house sitting for a colleague. I said ‘yes’ to housesitting without having ever seen the house (umm, rookie mistake!!!). Turns out the house is *filthy*. Like, we are talking copious amounts of dog hair on every surface (including in the bed), dog vomit stains all over the carpet (I am not kidding -their dog has stomach problems) and this overwhelming stench of un-aired, unwashed pungency. It is foul. The first few days that I stayed there, I just felt dreadful, and could not overcome the crappiness of my surroundings. I realised that it was going to take a hell of a lot of my own energy to maintain homeostasis in the face of the overwhelming negative energy in the surroundings. So I made the decision to not stay there. I am now driving there twice a week to check up on things, pick up mail, etc. But I had to make that call – despite feeling guilty – for myself, or I knew I’d go crazy…
Really enjoyed this interview snippet, Jess! I think it’s something we can all relate to, yet I know that I need to learn a whole lot more about it!!!
xo
This is fantastic, I have been very interested in this!
Thanks for sharing x
Hi Jess! This was wonderful! Jayme is vibrant, energetic and beautiful! She is spot on and I agree with everything she said in this clip. I am like Jess from Sparrow + Sea in that I am energetically affected by my surroundings. Back in the Spring, I went thru the house, room by room and de-cluttered. It felt AMAZING! I felt the shift immediately and I periodically de-clutter even more in these rooms every month as I change and evolve. I find Feng Shui so fascinating and will look into it more. Thanks, Jess! XO
Fascinating interview, Jess.
No question about it that, amongst other things, a huge spring-cleaning + de-cluttering of your home space raises your inner energy levels, improves mental + emotional clarity and increases the feelings of freedom + wellbeing massively!
P.S. Did she lose the weight and get married in Paris….?!
This is a perfect reminder that I need to move from my share-house living situation!
I think the energy of others has such a huge impact on us, and it’s important to take control of what we can, and energise our lives!
Now to get started on clearing out my desk!
Where do you get your Positive Affirmations for the Day? Do you make them up?
Thanks.

Kim » Hi Kim, yes I just make them up as I’m writing them. They usually match whatever I need to tell myself at the time.
