LTG Sneak Peek! Cyndi O’Meara Defends Sugar, Fat, Salt and Chocolate
Last week I gave you a first look into The Lifestyle Transformation Guide, posting a snippet of my interview with yogi Kathryn Budig. Today, I’m unveiling a little more and giving you part of my chat with nutrition super star Cyndi O’Meara.
Cyndi is one of Australia’s leading nutritionists, and is the author of the best-selling Changing Habits, Changing Lives. She is also one of my greatest mentors, and I’m now lucky enough to be able to call her a friend.
In this clip, Cyndi talks about:
+ Why we’re wrong to demonise sugar
+ Why we shouldn’t demonise fat and salt either (but what is actually in the conventional stuff)
+ Why chocolate cake and butter can be part of a healthy diet

There is so much more where that came from! The rest of this interview will be among the epic content in The Wellness Warrior Lifestyle Transformation Guide. Hop on the list to be the first to find out more.

Great interview Jess! There seems to be a segment every week on Today Tonight about cutting out sugar. I saw one where the subject was going on a sugar free diet and asked the expert if it was okay to have diet cordial/soft drink. He said it was fine to be consuming artificial sweeteners! Cringe. xx
Oh no!… I’m with you Emma – I’d rather have a little of the real thing vs. any of the fake stuff. Great interview, Jess – cannot wait to see it in full!
LOVE it! So much demonising of food is circulating right now and I just love Cyndi’s approach – real and whole. Can’t wait for more.
I was lucky enough to be in a small group of people in Melbourne last Saturday listening to Cyndi’s words of wisdom. She definitely practices what she preaches as she looks fabulous, shining with good health. I want to thank Jess and The Wellness Warrior website because that’s how I initially came across Cyndi’s name. She mentioned you Jess during her talk.
Hey Jess,
As always, a wonderful article! Could ya, would ya, give us a sampling of what YOU eat in a day….maybe a couple of days? It would be most helpful knowing what you eat too…
Peace and Love….
yay for un-common common sense! thanks Jess. can you do a vid on clay and on dry skin brushing… would to see ‘how’. keep up the good work.
I loved this interview! How great was Cyndi!
I am sugar-free most of time because it’s all or nothing for me. I am so addicted to it! But I agree that it’s all about balance and if you are going to eat sugar, choose wisely and enjoy a home made cake or cookies with good quality ingrediants rather than supermarket cakes or worse soda’s. The ingrediants list on supermarket cakes scare me!!
OMG Jess! I’m so looking forward to The Lifestlye Transformation Guide! The little teasers you have posted so far are great! Ive been away for a while but i’ve been spending time catching up on all your posts.
Love and light

I just love Cyndi!!! What a fabulous interview Jess! I’m really excited about the LTG!! I love Cyndi’s message about quality not quantity. I watched the interview enjoying homemade Banana muffins I had just whipped up using Banana, Spelt and Amaranth flour, Coconut oil, Rice milk, Maple Syrup, Pepitas, Walnuts, raw Cocao nibs and topped with Cashew nut icing! Yum! Cyndi is right that when you make better choices, you really can have your cake and eat it too!! xxx
This woman is very sensible. What is her stance on vegan lifestyle? As vegan is cutting out lots of important foods.
I thought Jess was against dairy but she was nodding in agreement to real butter in the chocolate cake. Is dairy bad or not?
Elizabeth » Hi Elizabeth, I am not a fan of dairy but I do agree that real organic butter is a far better choice than margarine or any of the fake butters. The main reason I don’t advocate dairy is because it is high in casein – a protein that promotes tumour growth. However butter is 99% casein free, so in my opinion it is not as bad as other dairy like milk and cheese. I hope this makes sense?
Yes that answers my question–thank-you. I have had recurrence of breast cancer and my 18yr old daughter has stopped eating dairy but I was concerned that she might not be doing the right thing by changing to olive or sunflower spread. I will show her your answer. I love your blog. Best wishes.
Elizabeth » Yes, I would suggest using either coconut oil, avocado, or organic butter as a spread. These are much better choices! Thank you so much. Lots of love x
I am so passionate about this topic. After what the added toxins have done to me, I think it is SO important to get awareness out their. I know so many people who have now cut out fruits because of the sugar context, so they are missing out of so many nutrients.
Loved this clip!
You’re such a freaking star Jess – I CAN’T WAIT to see your Lifestyle Transformation Guide
xxxxx
Hi Jess
Thanks for clearing up one of the myths about butter- I do enjoy butter on my toast but wondered if it was safe; now I know good quality, organic butter is ok occasionally:)
Do you mind my asking what are your view’s on almond butter (the roasted kind) and ghee?
Thanks in advance.
Lili2012 » My pleasure! I love almond butter – as long as it is organic. I eat it straight from the jar! Ghee is also an okay choice as long as it’s organic. It’s not vegan, but it comes under the same rule as butter. A little ghee is far better than a little margarine! x
Hi! I am deaf and I rely on subtitles/closed captions to understand videos. I’d love to watch yours but am unable to because there’s no cc and the YouTube audio transcribed captions (the “Translate Captions” part) are not accurate (check them out to see what I mean, it can be hilarious to see what words they use instead of what you guys actually said!) I’m wondering if you can post a transcript of the interview or add subtitles to the video? I’d appreciate it very much. Many thanks! Tracy
Hey Jess, I’m really looking forward to your LTG program, you have some so many great interviews lined up! I got to meet Cyndi and do her workshop in Sydney last weekend (I posted about it too). I love her passion and common sense approach.
Thanks for sharing this snippet of your interview with her. People need to get onto her, and learn what she’s about. She is just BRILLIANT!
