8 Things I’m Loving At The Moment

1. CONQUERING MY FEAR OF HEIGHTS (and having it on the news)

I am so terrified of heights that I practically cried at year 12 camp when my teachers tried to force me to go abseiling and on the flying fox. I can’t even go to Dreamworld! So jumping from out of a plane from 14,000 feet high was a major step in my quest to conquer all fears.

Being the awesome people that they are, my boyfriend, Tallon, and my friends Susana and Nicola jumped with me. We had one of the best experiences ever! I had the whole process filmed to be part of The Lifestyle Transformation Guide (hint: there is a section that dives into dissolving fears).

It was such a big deal (or such a slow news day) that the local news came by last week to chat to me about my experience, aired it on telly. Stupid me missed the broadcast though, so if anyone has a copy …

I can’t recommend skydiving highly enough, and the crew at Skydive Ramblers here on the Sunshine Coast made the day so much fun for us.

2. MY NEW VITAMIX

I have been so spoilt with awesome gifts in the mail lately, and a new Vitamix blender definitely takes the cake. I have been saving up for one of these beautiful machines for a while, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was when Vitamix said they wanted to send me one as a gift. I could have kissed the courier deliveryman. They may be expensive, but it’s not hard to see why once you compare them to other blenders. My old one got me through until now, but it has definitely been replaced by my new favourite toy.

3. TARA WOLF CHAKRA

Another gift I’ve received is this stunning bracelet from Tara Wolf Chakra. They let me choose a chakra bracelet of my choice from their website, and I chose this black and silver ‘Muladhara’ bracelet, which symbolises the Base or Root Chakra. The Root Chakra ties in with these personal traits: Stability, groundedness, security, health, courage, patience, individuality, success, survival and self-sufficiency, strong willed, honest, extroverted, spontaneous and confidence.

4. FRESH CLEAN BEAUTY/BODY PRODUCT FINDS

I love being able to share clean, organic, all-natural beauty finds with you and lately I’ve found some great ones.

Sodashi – This stuff is so beautiful. I was sent their ‘Balance’ range of white clay and lime skin care products, and I’ve become an instant fan. They smell amazing, and leave your skin feeling gorgeous.

Savi – Ditto the above for Savi. All natural, all organic, and so beautiful to use. Everything in the Savi range that I’m tried smells amazing and is gorgeous on the skin.

Simplicite – This is another clean skincare find that is beautiful on the skin. I also love this section of their website where they list all of the ingredients that they won’t use (and are found in most commercial skin care products).

Soapwalla Deodorant Cream – This deodorant smells amazing, and it works! It’s also totally natural and organic, mostly made up of essential oils.

Lulu Organics Organic Hair Powder – I was a big fan of hair powder back in the day. It saved me from many mornings when I was running late for work and didn’t have time to wash my hair. Commercial hair powders though are filled with nasty ingredients like talc. This one, from Lulu Organics, is all natural, all organic and talc free.

TOM Organic – I was walking through Woolworths the other day and was so excited to see TOM pads on the shelves. My friend Aimee, who is the powerhouse behind TOM Organic, has been working tirelessly to get her awesome product into the supermarket, so it makes me so happy to see her doing so well. First she launched her tampons, and now she has added pads to the range. Commercial pads and tampons are toxic and we should not use them in and on our bodies, which is why I love the TOM brand so much. Plus, Aimee is awesome.

5. THE CONVERSATION.TV

The Conversation is a TV show hosted by Amanda de Cadenet and executive produced by Amanda and her pal Demi Moore. It’s on the Lifetime channel in the US and luckily for those of us outside the states, it is also an awesome website. At The Conversation.tv you can check out clips from the show, plus brilliant articles covering everything from wisdom, wellness, love, beauty, careers and finance. It’s a mixed bag of advice and encouragement for women. Love it.

6. HUMAN FOOD FOR DOGS

I’m not the only one in our house who has been getting surprise visits from the postman. Edie was sent some super food this week that is literally good enough for humans to eat. Augustine Approved has just launched its new range of Augustine’s SuperBoost superfoods. They contain flaxseed meal, barley grass, arrowroot, ground sesame, ground chia, turmeric, maca, ground wakame, and American Ginseng.

7. IN SPACES BETWEEN ‘MAKE MAGIC’ DAILY PLANNER

To celebrate hitting a Facebook fans milestone, my friend Rachel from In Spaces Between is gifting everyone with a beautiful free daily planner. Rach teamed up with our superstar go-to designer Sian Richardson for this pretty and practical planner. Head over to In Spaces Between and download yours now. I’m making mine into notepads!

8. This TED Talk

I don’t see why we can’t all adopt the idea discussed in this TED talk. Our sidewalks here in Australia are covered in useless plants, when they could be filled with delicious, nutritious plant foods. This video is proof that it’s possible for a small group of people to create a better place to live.

Thanks for the mention gorgeous! Love this list – jam-packed with goodness. Sodashi are my all-time faves, such beautiful products that do the job very well. Happy Monday xx

Love your list! I’m all about organic beauty and even make my toners to save money. I dream of Vitamix too, but there’s no way I could afford it. So my old $30 blender has to do. I also have terrible fear of heights, but could not imagine ever skydiving. That’s a bit too much for me. :)

Have a great new week! Greetings from NYC!

Two things I am loving right now..

1. YOU
2. That I get to see you this weekend ekkkkkkkk

Jessica, Great post!
So cool for facing your fears and telling it “Nope! Can’t hold me back!” Cheers!!

Awesome gift from Vitamix! I’ve had mine for 2.5 years and adore it. I lovingly use it EVERYDAY – several times at that! You’ll be enamored immediately! :)

Thought about you today – Ok, I know this is weird – when I was about to do my coffee enema. Haven’t done one in awhile and thought about the video you did recently on it. I actually highlighted the video on my “Thoughtful Thursday” post: http://kibbysblendedlife.com/?p=1241. I highly recommend enemas and colonics and thought your video put a lot of fears about it to rest. Easy Peasy!

I love your blog and all your info. Much appreciated!

Have a great week!
Look forward to more greatness from you soon,
XO,
Kibby

I am loving:
1. Lazy days with my beautiful boyfriend,
2. Reading awesome, inspiring books (and blogs!) that make me wanna get out there and *do* stuff (PS – am definitely adding Cheryl Strayed’s book to my list after your recommendation), and
3. Renewed motivation. For life in general. xo!

great job and what great pics. YOur defineatly a go get um girl. Love you site and I have a friend who has just discovered a lump in her breast so I am going to try and convince her of the wonders that are possible. Its going to be hard as she is old school italian and her life is just one big stress ball! My first trick is to get her to come away to a house in Noosa, and getting the fellows and her to turn the darn phones off and jsut relax and breath. shh while we are there introduce them to some recipes as wel ;) its proably nothing much but at least I feel like I tried. I have been trying to get her to destress for so long and live life, stop saying ooh I am getting old. My pet hate! age is just a number, its your state of mind that says your old. And really why at the age of 50 does everyone want to “slow” down from life! Its to beautiful and precious to not enjoy to the fullest!

congrats on facing your fears!
I love your beauty reviews because I know you are honest and want the best for your readers, so a huge thank you!
I am currently needing to change my deodorant because its not natural or safe. I have been a little scared to try a natural one to be honest.

Great list Jess, I always find something new to love x

Hey Jess, I am Loving:
1. Coconut water + spinach + lemon juice for Brekky
2. La Balsa Park – and aiming at being able to run the entire track without stopping
3. Your infectious outlook on life
4. Sweet Poison – by David Gillespie
5. Make Peace with your Plate
6. That I just purchased tickets for my daughter and I to have a white Christmas in Ireland this year
xxxxxxxxxxx Happy Monday !!!!
