2011 Reflections: My favourite recipes

Posted December 30, 2011

Way back when we bought that very first book on how to heal cancer naturally, and my Mum started rattling off all of the foods I would have to say goodbye to, I thought my life was ruined. How can one exist without things like spaghetti Bolognese and satay chicken, I thought? But as saving my life became more important than greasy food binges, I began to realise that there is a whole other world of amazing, healthy, tasty food out there that I was previously unbeknownst to.

Here is a list of my favourite healing recipes from 2011 …

1. Apple-cherry pudding

2. Raw creamy corn zucchini pasta

3. Apple-sweet potato pudding

4. Carrot and capsicum cabbage parcels

5. Chocolate chicknut slice

6. Buzz balls

7. Tallon’s Berry Super Man Smoothie

8. Healthy, hearty lentils with rye flat bread

9. Veggie and chickpea risotto

10. Raw cherry bombs

MY GIFT TO GERSON …

I am donating 50% of all sales of my Healing Through The Holidays recipe e-book to the Gerson Institute. Gerson Therapy has saved my life, and so many others like me, and I want to do this as a gift to them. These people work so hard to get the Gerson message out, and help so many people with cancer and other chronic illnesses, and they rely on donations to make it all happen. Perfect timeing, Jess! I am plainning out a detox for myself for next week and the lentil soup will be perfect. That chocolate pie looks amazing too!

Yum! I tried your baked potato stuffed with the creamed corn over the holidays, and am sure glad I made enough for everyone (originally it was just going to be for me…since I’m the one with the “health” issues) but everyone wanted some! What a great way to show that eating healthy doesn’t equal yucky :)

Wonderful recipes, very inspiring. I was looking at the ‘HEALTHY, HEARTY LENTILS WITH RYE FLAT BREAD’. The flat bread is made using Hippocrates soup mix, but when I tried to look up how that is made, I found the recipe for it is no longer available :-( It would be very nice to know…. Thanks, Jess

Hi Henny, Thank you! Sorry, here is the link to the soup recipe: http://www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au/2010/06/recipe-of-the-week-hippocrates-soup/ :)

Are all recipes Gerson approved?

Thx in advance!

Hi Silvia,

Sorry, no they are not all Gerson approved. Most Gerson people know what they can and can’t have, so I don’t always write if it is a Gerson recipe or not. But most of them can be altered to suit Gerson requirements :)
