Wellness Warrior TV: The Mum Interview
I have a real treat for you guys today. Not only am I shushing my ego and putting up the first ever Wellness Warrior TV video, but it’s also the first time my mum is sharing her personal dance with cancer.
As some of you know, I was diagnosed with a rare cancer called epithelioid sarcoma in 2008, and then again at the end of 2009. Since April 2010 I have been curing myself with a treatment method called Gerson Therapy. My family has been pretty much consumed by this disease for almost four years, so when my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in April this year we knew exactly how to deal with it. Following her diagnosis, my mum refused any sort of conventional interference. She said no to a mammogram and a biopsy, told them that she wasn’t interested in going down the path of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, and instead chose the same therapy as me.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Instead of doing what we usually do, and cursing every time we see pink ribbons and advertisements for Girls Nights In – both of which only raise money to add to the multi billion dollar cancer industry – we thought we would take a different approach. Which is why I asked my mum to sit down with me and let me quiz her, 60 Minutes-style, about the decisions she made around her disease.
Mum’s asked me to let you know that she was very much out of her comfort zone and incredibly nervous filming this video, but she hopes she was able to get her message across. Also, there is a cameo by my little pug girl Edie.
This is what you’ll learn in this video:
• What my mum believes triggered her cancer.
• The role hormones play in disease manifestation.
• Why we believe that mammograms are useless, and even dangerous.
• Why my mum refused to have her breast tissue biopsied.
• Why she would refuse to have a lumpectomy (removal of the lump) and a mastectomy (removal of one or both of the breasts), and refuse to have chemotherapy and radiation.
• Why Mum is so confident that Gerson Therapy will work.
• The number one message she would like to get out to people watching this video.
• What she would like Breast Cancer Awareness Month to actually be about.
After you’ve watched the video, leave a comment below and let us know what you think about the topics we discussed.

Great work Jess! You and your mum are such an inspiration. I totally agree with your message for this video. We should all question where our donated money is going and seriously consider donating it towards natural therapies. Are there any natural therapy organisations that you can recommend to donate to apart from the Gerson clinic?
Thanks so much Sarah! The Gerson Institute is a good one, but there is also the Gawler Foundation in Melbourne. I am also in the process of creating an online charity website with a friend of mine and we will be raising money to help people on their natural healing journey. I’ll post more about that as we get closer to launching. x
Great clip Jess, thank-you for sharing with everyone about Gerson and other options we should be thinking about during breast cancer awareness month, or for that means at anytime when faced with this dreadful dis-ease. Also, it is so great to see you and your Mum looking so healthy and doing well!
Sending you lots of healing light ~ your fellow Gersonator ![]()
xx
Hi Jess, I have just finished another book on alternative cancer therapies this time by Suzanne Somers whom you have referenced before on your blog. The book is called Knockout and she interviews Doctors like Burzynski who are curing cancer. One thing that I wanted breast cancer patients to know is that there is a COX-2 inhibitor they can be treated with and this shows ” those who were treated with a COX-2 inhibitor were 90 percent less likely to develop bone metastases than those who were not”. I am unsure if this is available or used in main stream treatment. Worth knowing. Celebrex is a drug form of this inhibitor and curcumin, resveratrol and others are a natural form. A book worth reading and something to bring up with their Doctors.
HI Jess, thanks to you and your beautiful mum for sharing that
Just a query though, im a little confused, does your mum think that having the iud in was the wrong choice? and she should of just had the pill? thanks again and lots of love and postive vibes being sent to you and your family! xxx
Hi Anita, Yes Mum believes that having the IUD was definitely the wrong choice. She wouldn’t advocate the pill either though. If she knew then what she knows now, she would have sought a natural progesterone as this is what her body needed. The IUD was synthetic progesterone, and then when this was taking out after 5 years her hormones went out of whak. By the time she knew to take natural progesterone, it was too late and the hormonal damage had been done. Thanks so much! x
I’m on bioidentical hormone relplament therapy at only 26 years old because the pill screwed me up so badly. Synthetic hormones are awful. I wish I never used the pill.
Jess,
Does your mum know what kind of natural progesterone she would have taken? I’ve been really wondering about how synthetic hormones affect women’s bodies, specifically ‘the Pill’. Perhaps your could even write a post some time with your thought on it
Thanks! x
Hi Cate, Yes, the best natural progesterone she found was Dr Peat’s Progest-E Complex by Kenogen. I definitely think this topic deserves its own post. Stay tuned! xx
First off…..Your mother is beautiful….you are a lucky girl to have those genes. I had a conversation this evening with my running coach concerning someone in our group who is battling breast cancer…She has already endured a mastectomy, chemo & radiation…devastating results. I expressed my thoughts on the millions raised for cancer research without seeing the results of those efforts. I believe women need the knowledge to empower themselves. You have convinced many to change how they live and provided us with an education on alternative therapies. Both your mother & you are an inspiration to all of us. I truly loved the video & the Aussi accents….your mother had nothing to worry about!! She was in very safe & loving hands:)
Looking forward to your next video & finding out more about your charity website!!
Hugs,
Jeri
Hi Jeri, Yes she is beautiful! Thank you so much for your support x
Hi Jess,
Thank you for the excellent interview with your mother. It was very enlightening and so refreshing to hear you question the Pink Ribbon multi-billion dollar cancer industry scam which everyone I know has bought into. I applaud her decision not to undergo the standard conventional cancer therapy of surgery, chemo and radiation and instead heal her body naturally. I wish everyone facing this would become this aware. Thank you again for your inspiring website!
Well Jess, now we know where you get your beauty from !! Your mum is one beautiful lady. Thankyou for sharing this personal story.Sending love to all your family, especially Edie! x
This is great! I share your post on my fb page. Thanks for all you do,things like this make it easier getting family and friends to go the natural way. It’s tough trying to convince people to not go the chemo/radiation/surgery ways,I have done my best to share methods I know works but some still trust the doctor knows best and those doctors treat the conventional ways, those people are not here today(family and friends) Hard to convince something methods so easy can get rid of something that kills so many. Heard a show today with Dr. Rashid Buttar on the immune system and cancer. http://www.naturalnewsradio.com/RobertScottBell/MP3/RSBShow-2011-10-03-Smith-Buttar.mp3 Thanks…. P.S. Are you single? =)
Such an inspirational interview Jess! Your Mum is absolutely right, we should stop, think and reasearch first before making any decision. As a Natural Therapist I see too many people going the traditional way which is the chemo, radiation or surgery. It’s a huge industry and unfortunatelly people without realizing are the victims. Mu mum died of lung cancer, she was only 56 years old. I watched her going through chemo which was the most horrifying experience.
Thank you for sharing your experience, love reading your posts. There is an excellent video on cancer called “Cancer is curable now”. Have you seen it?
Thanks so much Gosia! Yes, I have seen it – such an awesome movie. I wrote a post about it a little while ago: http://www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au/2011/05/must-watch-dvd-cancer-is-curable-now/
Thank you Jess and thanks to your mum for sharing your stories! I have been following your blog for months now and I have learnt a lot! Keep up the great work! And please let us all know when we can start donating to research on alternative cancer cures!
Cheers!
Wonderful! You both look gorgeous! As you know, I’m doing Gerson, but I also provided mental health therapy to hospice patients for 10 months, most of which had advanced cancers. Not one of my patients went the alternative route, and it was heart breaking to see. I can guarantee they did not know Gerson existed.
Great video Jess! You both look gorgeous,as always. I think it’s so important to do your own research, meet with the professionals, and then have the courage to walk your own path that YOU feel is right (not the doctors). When I was first diagnosed and chose to go down the natural path, I remember feeling very bitter towards the medical field and couldn’t understand why anyone would go down the conventional path. But in the end I ended up going down that route and now I am in remission. It certainly made me realize that we shouldn’t judge anyone for their choices because we are all so different. I just hope more people wake up and take better care of themselves now, before it gets to the point when they have to make these awful decisions. Love you both!! Xx
Fantastic interview! Very informative and professional and I shared it via every form of communication I have at my finger tips! Not only am I more inspired to be kinder to myself – I am also going to go and call my mum! haha, and I am still smiling about Edie’s cameo. Can’t wait for more! Good Job ladies!
I’M SHARING! Awesome. You are gorgeous and did a fantastic job. Thanks for putting yourself out there!
My comment would be that people should look at evidence (not evidence from the internet), not belief (their own or others’), when it comes to illness and treatment. But I accept that for others, belief is important above all.
Wonderful first TV episode! You and your mum are such beautiful lights sharing the message of natural health and healing. Thanks ladies!
Hi Jess
I came across your site last January, and I have to say it really has changed my life. I don’t have cancer but I do have hormonal and metabolic problems that have caused me a ridiculous amount of stress since I was sixteen. My doctors put me on all sorts of medications, and I went along with it because I didn’t know anything but to trust them completely. I stopped the meds, incorporated yoga, and adapted a vegetarian lifestyle that is free of gluten, processed foods, and sugar. I’ve never felt better or healthier. Thank you!!
Anatural presenter you are Jess. You and your mum make a great team, getting a very important message out there. Educating us all and providing us with alternative thinking to better our mind, body and spirits. Thank you for being a beautiful and giving person. A real angel:) love always.xxx
Wowzers! First congrats on your Wellness Warrior TV debut – this is AWESOME!! Secondly, your mum is Divine! Her story is inspiring! And the Ainscough message about Breast Cancer Awareness is POWERFUL!! You guys are the closest thing I’ve ever come to cancer + I’m wholeheartedly supporting this message. Sending you love + sharing the love. xx
Wonderful video and important message. In addition to the Gerson protocol I think your mum had a wonderful furry little healing force sitting happily on her lap
)
Well done to you both! If everyone even considered natural therapy it would be a start at least. Research and knowledge of disease is such a big factor. Love to you both xxxxx
Two amazing and inspiring woman. x
Great interview! Been following your blog for over a year now, all the way in sunny Florida! My mom is starting round two of chemo next week for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Would love for her to commit to Gerson, have even mentioned it to her, but no luck. Anyways, I look forward to your posts each day. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! You are an inspiration!
thank you Jess and mum !
inspiring and informative.
I can just feel the great trust she has in her healing process.
and this is something even beyond the words and information.
beautiful connection you both have.
thanks for sharing that with us !
sandra
Great job Jess.
I do my best fit the Gerson Therapy around the full time employment I need to support my family.
My day here in the UK always starts with my enema, first juice of the day and the inspiration I get from your posts to help me on my way.
The video is a great development, let’s have more please. As beautiful as you both are Eadie stole the show!

Hi Jess
Have been following your site for months now. You are such a positive and inspirational woman. Just wondering, your mum spoke about using natural progesterone rather than the pill, IUD etc. I have had similar symptoms to what your mum had when she stated using an IUD. I am reluctant to go back on pill and wondered if you have more information on natural progesterone and doctors who are open to natural healing. I am on the sunshine Coast. Best wishes to you and your beautiful mum.xx
Hi Heather,
Dr Sandeep Gupta is a great doctor on the Sunshine Coast who is open to natural healing. He is in Buderim at Lotus Holistic Medicine: http://www.lotusholisticmedicine.com.au/
The natural progesterone that mum started taken was Progest-E Complex by Kenogen. She ordered it from the US from [email protected]
Hope this helps! xx
I just wanted to say that I go to Dr. Gupta and encourage you to see him. He has helped me tremendously. He is a very gentle soul.
Dr Graeme Williams is a natural hormone doctor who operates in Noosa

wow Jess- well done to both of you!! Let your mum know that you couldnt tell in the slightest she was nervous, she did a fantastic job- you both look so radiant, well and beautiful. And you both come across as so positive, knowlegable and passionate. Great video- awesome message. Ive been involved in breast cancer awareness fundraisers and was going to do the same this year, with you and your mum in mind actually, but now I will think twice aboue how I get involved! Your going to do so well xoxox
Great presentation from both you and your mum Jess. Love your mums unshakable belief – so very inspiring. I know that you are both huge inspirations for many people.
Such a powerful, encouraging, and inspirational article….what fantastic, uplifting, important work!
Good for you~keep it up! Blessings! xoxo
Jess, about 5 or 6 weeks ago I found your website when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and you helped solidify my decision to go the Gerson way. I find huge strength and inspiration in your journey, and now your Mum’s – I visit your website multiple times a day to get my fix! (You seriously gets me through some rough moments, as I’m ramping up to the full Gerson therapy.).
Now that it’s breast cancer awareness month, it’s awesome that you’re bringing attention to healing modalities for cancer that actually work longterm – bringing the body back to balance is crucial with any illness, and there’s just not enough awareness (it was pure good luck that my brother knew about Gerson and recommended I look into it). I’m super excited about your charity website to help people who are healing naturally and will be looking for ways I can become more involved in getting the word out about natural protocols.
Thanks for all you do – you inspire and heal more than you know.
Lucie x
Hey Jess,
Wonderful video! Your mother is courageous and such a beautiful woman.
I was actually wondering if you could explain what natural progesterones are. I have been diagnosed with anovulatory ahmmonerea (lack of menstruation due to lack of ovulation) and the doctor wants to put me back on the pill. I was on it for ten years and NEVER want to go back on it again. Are there natural alternatives to provide my body with the hormones it needs? Do you know of any resources that might help me? I am desperate!
Thanks so much and take care,
Aisha
Hi Aisha, Thanks so much! Sure thing. Have a look into Dr Peat’s natural progesterone. My mum was on Progest-E Complex by Kenogen. It’s from the US. A good integrative doctor will be able to assist you in balancing your hormones. It could be worth having your hormones tested via a saliva test to see what it out of balance, and then seeking help from an integrative doctor to balance them. Hope this helps! xx
Also do a google search on bio-identical hormones. If you have a compounding pharmacy nearby they probably make up these natural hormones for a local doctor and you could contact that doctor. I am on the gold coast and found a few who treat with these hormones. Hope this helps too.
Hi Jess,
what a beautiful gift for October! So concise and yet so informative! I’ll be sending out the link to wherever I can ![]()
Much love to you and your Mum, two beautiful, so-healthy-looking Welness Warriors!
You and your mum are gorgeous. This video was so interesting, thank you!
Hi Jess,
You’re amazing! I love reading your posts and loved seeing your mum interviewed. I’ve just completed 8 months of treatment and surgery for breast cancer. I went down the traditional road but am embracing the natural/alternative route which I’m loving. It’s a big change but a necessary one. Wishing you good health always. Mia x
Thanks for a wonderful story and I do find you both inspirational.
One thing that I don’t agree with though is the knocking of charities and organisations that also are helping people. I had no choice but to choose the chemotherapy way as I only had 3 weeks to live. I was supported incredibly by the Cancer Council with financial assistance, a free counsellor and lots of information on both natural and medical alternatives.
I find the Cancer Council do use their donations not only research, but also for support services and prevention. The biggest on of course is the Quit campaign. Why do women check their breasts themselves, because they see the pink ribbons.
I am all for people having choices but not all of it is a scam. There are real people who have been supported and every organisation whether natural or medical has a voice. I love the fact that you are going down the natural way and I love your positive nature, but maybe knocking other organisations who do have a positive influence for some people doesn’t bring a positive note to your site.
Hi Lisa, thank you so much for your comment and I’m sending you lots of healing energy for your personal cancer journey. I do stand by my comments about Breast Cancer Awareness month and the slew of pink ribbon marketing it brings with it. It’s awesome that the Cancer Council provides those positive services – I am certainly not knocking that because I believe it is important. So is prevention! Well done to them for offering those campaigns. However, the cancer industry rakes in billions of dollars each year. All we are asking is that people think about where the money is going? Breast cancer survival rates have not improved in the slightest since the war on cancer began. If the cancer industry really did want to find a cure, wouldn’t you think the dismal stats alone would encourage them to research different areas? We are frustrated because proven life-saving natural therapies like Gerson Therapy are shunned by the cancer community, purely because these therapies can’t be patented and profited from. If a cancer drug got these sorts of results, it would be branded as a “miracle cure”. I don’t want to put down anyone who is trying to make a positive difference in the lives of others, but I do want to urge people to think about where they want their money to go. If they donate because they believe their money if going towards “finding a cure”, I want them to know that buying pink ribbon products is not going to do it. I don’t like wearing my cynical hat, but this is something I feel very strong about and I feel I have to use this platform to share my thoughts. xx
Thanks Jess for the good thoughts. So you know, you have educated me so much on how I can improve my chances of never having cancer again with your blogs and your sight. You have opened up my eyes and there is so much I didn’t know. So an incredible thank you to you. I am four years clear now and hopefully with the changes I make I can keep extending it.
Believe me, I do agree with you on questioning where the money is going and that the Gerson Therapy does not get the full exposure of the good it does. I just wanted you and other people to know that if they have donated in the past, it certainly did help me and my family and I thank them for it.
I love reading your site and this was the first time I had commented. I am finding a balance in my life purely on the education you have given me and so please take that as a wonderful gift.
I love you opinion and how everyone’s opinion is given a voice.
Keep up the good work. xx
That’s so great, Lisa! Well done to you for taking control of your health and congratulations on being four years clear – that is fantastic!! Thanks so much for commenting as well. I think it is really important that we all speak up on topics like this. Hearing and considering different views and perspectives is the only way we are going to make progress. Lots of love to you xx
We all have our story to tell and are led in different directions. Your video helped make my understanding of cancer a whole lot clearer. Thankyou thankyou Jess and your Mum. God is working through you both to help other people heal. How fantastic is that!!!
I was just devastated to see last weekend in the paper, where two sisters (both only in their twenties) both had a double mastectomy in the last few years, because their Mother had breast cancer. I guess everyone has free will to make their own choices.
We can only suggest an alternative way to go. I am currently putting out there that whatever helps cancer helps other diseases as well, but people can’t see it or won’t even look.
God Bless!! Wellness Warriors!!
Good job with this video!! The more people that are informed about natural health care the better!! Keep up the good work!!
Can you please explain the difference between “Natural Progesterone” & Bio -identical Progesterone?
Natural is from yam’s? and bio is from chemists?? is that right?… is it safe to use Bio Identical hormones?
Hi Kelly,
Both natural progesterone and bio identical hormones are natural. It’s best to speak with an integrative doctor who is clued up on hormones and who can work with you to balance what you need. Always use natural or bio identical though, and not synthetic. Mum didn’t need estrogen, which is why she just used Dr Peat’s Progest-E Complex. Hope this helps! x
Thank you Jess. I LOVE your videos. I am taking inspiration from you to heal myself, even though I dont have cancer I want total wellness and your emails motivate me every day. I feel blessed to have found your website and will be sharing this on my fb page. Natasha x
I think your web cite is very inspirational and i agree wholeheartedly with what you say. I am very familiar with The China Study. Gerson Therapy and Hallelujah Acres in Shelby North Carolina. I love to read all of the great healing testimonies of individuals who chose the alternative route. Love to you and your mom. God bless you all and your dad . Oh yes and your little dog. Blessings Patricia Keep up the great work that you are doing.
Great video Jess!! both yourself and your mum were well spoken with a fantastic message. Completely agree 100% with your mum that ‘Knowledge is Power’ As always you are both truely inspirational, keep up the good work and cant wait for the next Wellness Warrior Video
x
jess, you and your mom are an inspiration! thank you for sharing your journey, knowledge, and insights. i love your site!!
blessings!!
Jess, u and your mum are such an inspiration. This video was great, with very helpful reminders to make sure we are in control of our treatment. Thank you for sharing.
I have a question that may be a tad off subject, but what about pregnancy prevention? Is there any type of birth control that will not damage your body? I have a serious illness and if I were to become pregnant it would be life-threatening to both me and the child. I am married, however, and my Dr.’s are trying to convince me to get the Mirena. I have been putting it off, but am not sure what to do. Do u have any advice on this subject?
Thank you so much for your time.
You could look into the Paraguard instead of the Mirena – it is a copper IUD with no hormones. I got one a couple of months ago and (despite the elongated periods and extra-painful cramps during the first few months) I love it! I refuse to take any kind of hormonal birth control, I think latex is nasty so condoms are out, and I don’t trust the rhythm method (plus, I wouldn’t trust myself to be 100% vigilant about following it). So, it was definitely the right choice for me.
If you are on the Gerson Therapy, though, you might need to be extra-careful with an IUD, since it’s a foreign object and there is a chance that your body could try to expel it. But if you’re looking into an IUD, Paraguard is definitely the way to go.
Dear Jess, Mum & Edie, thank you for sharing with such courage & such honesty. Your video is inspirational and shares the truth of being involved, self empowered & committed to our own journey, whatever that may be. We can all be applying the same principles to our lives, regardless of our challenges, big or small. The integrity of your conversation in the video speaks volumes & the message you are sharing is to be embraced. We should all ask more questions & you have a great voice contributing to finding the answers – thank you. love & laughter Amanda
Thank you Jess for that great mum interview! I have been reading Max Gerson’s book “A Cancer Therapy” and The Gerson Institute would be the first place I would head if I was diagnosed with any cancer. That said, I keep absolutely positive about my health, I eat organic vegan food and make sure meditation is part of my daily routine. Could you please do us a favor and update the interview with your mum as the Gerson therapy progresses? I will keep her – and you – in my prayers knowing that your bodies are free of disease and your spirits are continually uplifted by The One True Heart. Blessings and Namaste.
Love it! Thanks for the amazing insight into your morher’s life and the choices she has made! She sounds like an amazing woman!
I actually talked to my midwife about the latest version of low level progesterone IUD when I saw her a few weeks ago, and she brought it up as a possible treatment option for heavy menstrual bleeding. I’ve always had heavy periods but after the pregnancy it was crazy and pretty much a daily blood bath in the bathroom for a few days each month where I sometimes had a difficult time even managing to keep the urogenital area blood free for long enough to be able to do the catheter emptying of the bladder… Now I’m pregnant again and I hope the period will stay away for as long as it did last time, with the breastfeeding and all. But I said when we feel we’re done having kids I will probably have to do something about this issue. I can’t take the drugs available to minimize bleeding because I have impaired circulation in my lower right leg from the paralysis, so then she mentioned the low level progesterone IUD saying it had only local effect on the uterine wall.
About your mum’s choices in her treatment I respect that she made them, but I don’t agree with them all. I too feel that mammograms are probably not that helpful but I do think surgery could be key. I don’t know the details in this specific case but for people where surgery alone could actually get rid of all the cancer I think that is a wise option and then combine that with lifestyle changes. I mentioned this to another blogger who is a now retired medical dr who writes about MS on his blog and he was inspired to hear about your journey but quite shocked when he learned that your mum had chosen the same type of treatment having a much more common type of cancer for which there is conventional treatment available. I do think it’s equally important for people to look at conventional options for their specific case as is it to look for options outside conventional medicine if that is not enough.
Yes, there is treatment available for breast cancer but after all of the research we have done, mum decided that the dismal success rates weren’t good enough for her to go down the surgery, chemo, radiation path. We have seen the effectiveness of Gerson first hand. Why wouldn’t she use it as well. The message mum was trying to get across here is that the tumour is not the cancer. If you cut out the tumour, you are not dealing with the cancer. The cancer is an imbalance in your body that can only be reversed when you heal the body as a whole. This is what she meant by her comments. I think that should clear up your concern below also. My mum did not mean to upset you, she is merely stating her personal choices based on her personal research. It’s just another point of view for people to consider.
Ok, yes I understood that part, about healing the cause and not just the symptoms – it was just the way it was expressed that made it sound like you can’t obtain optimal health if you’ve had parts of your body removed. This is actually a thought that is sometimes presented in alternative medicine like different types of healing and can make a person in that situation lose hope for optimal health instead of being empowered. Thanks for clarifying anyway.
I just had to mention one more thing here – there was one thing that your mum said that actually made me quite upset! She said that you can’t heal your body with parts missing – you have to heal the whole body…. Ok, but what about all the people who actually have needed to have surgery either for life threatening conditions or for lack of better options? To say to someone that they can’t then heal is terrible! I have several friends who’ve had to take their colon out because of severe inflammatory bowel conditions that haven’t responded to any available treatment and for those conditions when it gets that serious it’s surgery or death pretty much. To tell them they can’t heal after that, even those where the condition has only presented in the colon, would be awful. The body’s ability to heal is great but of course growing a new limb or something like that is a bit of a stretch even for the most open minded
but saying that we can’t heal unless we have our whole body intact is wrong I think.
Love the video guys.
Great cinematography for a first video! Very artistic!
I lost my mother to bowel cancer almost 20yrs ago.
After two operations removing 3/4 of her bowel progressively she finally found the alternative methods (too late of course)
Ian Gawlers book was one that sank into her heart.
I have since kept and learn from these books more and more.
I have always believed the cure THEY are looking for will never come.
The way we live and treat our bodies is the answer to the C word.
Conscious Care – Cut out the Chemistry – Cells Crave Committment.
I adore your Mums’ bravery and salute the amazing work you as family are doing for each other and our entire community.
Blessings for the next steps in your journey.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1979. She had a masectomy but never took radiation or chemotherapy and lived til 2008. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994. She did not have a masectomy but she had numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and died in 2002. My dad died of Alzheimers and sadness in 2006..
I believe chemo, radiation and masectomies just advance this disease and kill the patient.. I am 54 and so far have not been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am living everyday trying to eat right, sleep right, exercise regularly and keep the stress levels low. In my heart, I believe it was all of the meds that killed the three of them. They truly believed in modern medicine and I’m not so sure I believe in it — when it comes to cancer. I am starting to think it is one of the biggest businesses in this country!!
Hi Jess
Great video. Thanks so much to you and your Mum for sharing such personal stuff with all of us.
I am a bit confused though (I apologise if this has been addressed in a previous comment) if your dear Mum has not had a mammogram or biopsy, how can she know for sure that she has breast cancer? If those two tests has not been done, perhaps she is only dealing with harmless cysts and that would have to be a huge relief for her??
Take care
Angie
Hi Angie, thanks so much for your comment! My mum has had an MRI and an ultrasound plus a breast examination by a breast cancer specialist. From all of this, they are certain that she has breast cancer. She also has breast cancer tumour markers that indicate active cancer. All of this was enough for mum to realise that she has to do something about getting her body back in balance. In my mum’s case, mammograms and biopsies are not needed and would actually be detrimental to her healing. xx
Hi Jess,
Thanks so much to you and your mum for sharing your experiences. It really is true that knowledge is power, and without any knowledge of what these systems are doing to our bodies we’re setting ourselves up for disaster!
Do you know what the Gerson Therapy’s take on mole removal is? I understand your mum decided not to get a biopsy when she discovered the lump was suspicious, but if a doctor wants to remove a mole because it’s suspicious, what’s the best course of action?
Thanks again!
Hi Tracey,
Have you ever looked into black salve or “cansema”? It’s a topical ointment that will drawn out any skin cancers. If it’s cancerous, it will cause a reaction, but if it’s not it will just make the area red. It says on the site that it’s for dogs and horses, but it’s okay for ALL ANIMALS (aka, including us). In my opinion it’s the way to go if you have a suspicious lump.
Check it out here: http://health.centreforce.com/health/cansemaorder.html

Thanks, Jess. Will definitely look into it! And if you did get a reaction, would you automatically start with the therapy?
With a few applications, the black salve will actually draw out any malignant tissue. It’s amazing stuff. You should watch the DVD One Answer To Cancer. It’s hard to say if you would need to do the therapy as well. If the malignancy was localised to just the mole, probably not, but there would be no way of knowing if it was anywhere else in the body. x
Hi Jess. I love the Mala bead necklace you’re wearing in the video. Where did you get it and what kind of stone is that? Very beautiful
Great job on the website! Good luck and God bless!
Thanks Jenn! The Mala beads are from Tiny Devotions and the one I’m wearing is the Turquoise Ocean Mala. They are so beautiful and the girl who designs them is lovely. http://www.lovetinydevotions.com/shop/

I thought it looked familiar. I just purchased the Amazonite Mala from them a few days ago for my birthday and I’m anxiously awaiting its arrival. Thanks
Jess you are a brave young woman and so is your Mum!! Congratulations on doing the Gerson Therapy which I have only learned in the past few months about through a video “A Beautiful Truth” and your website came to my attention this morning through a Gerson newsletter.
So many true words in the video….the medical profession and pharmaceutical companies are benefiting and people are suffering.
Take good care and I will subscribe to your newletter, you are truly an inspiration for us in Australia!
Love and Light
Gday jess,
Just watched your interview with your mum and i admire your courage, voices definately needed to be heard in this day and age. Drs are a quick fix but arnt a cure. I believe in natural remedies and the power of your mind. Your doing an excellent job. Keep it up!
Ive been reading alot of novels and i thought this novel in particular would interest you
“Happy for no reason” 7 steps to being happy from the inside out by Marci Shimnoff.
Absolutely brilliant book.
Thanks so much Keturah! I have heard of that book but I haven’t read it yet. Thanks so much for the reminder! Will order it in my next Book Depository splurge x
Great video and so incredibly informative, life saving really! Thank you for your display of courage and not being a victim. Being informed is the beginning of the BEST defense. Thanks to the two of you for putting yourselves out there. I just forwarded this to my chiropractor whose mom also has breast cancer. My brother died of renal carcinoma last Dec. and it happened so fast, he found out in Aug and was gone in Dec. He refused to go to the Gerson clinic in Mexico. My partner who is a conventional nurse went to the Gerson beginner course and I am going as well. We both would like to become certified care givers. Thanks again!
Hi Rebecca, that is awesome that you guys are going to become certified care givers. That is such an important role. All the best with it!! xx
Just a fyi. I remember reading in one of Charlotte Gerson’s books that she says that “endocrine cancers” such as breast and prostate cancers heal slower – but do heal. She says it is because the gland is “clogged with cancer cells” and so the body has a lot to get through before it gets to the primary lump that one may be feeling in their breast. Also, I am sure you both know this, even though the breast lump may not be gone right away, all kinds of other things are being worked on — especially the cleansing of the liver etc. Anyway, just wanted you to know this so you can pass on to your mum. Thanks again for all you do for this universe! Please keep us up to date on your mum’s progress — retracting nipple etc– since, like you said, breast cancer is way more common than the cancer you have.
You go girls! I began in the 60′s researching food to heal Cancer when my Mother died of Lung and Brain Cancer at 31. And so did my Father. I watched her have several surgeries and her brain dissentigrate from radiation.
Combating Cancer became a theme of my life…every two years someone in my family died of Cancer. It spared no lives! In 1970, Linus Pauling won the Nobel Prize for his work on Vitamin C and promoted Vitamin C for the common cold and Cancer. It gave me something that I could immediately control and answer with foods and food supplements. I also learned about getting oxygen into the body by increasing chlorophyll to cleanse the body. So, digestive health mainly colon health and massage therapy to rid the body of impurities and accumulated toxins in the body. In the 60′s we used ACE-Vitamin A, C, E. Increasing the Anti oxidants to protect the cells became a committed focus because I did not want to die of Cancer.
Through the Human Genome Project-Nova-Marine Biology. The photosynthesis process of sun, water, and green algae got my attention and I lived in Hawaii as a child; I learned to proliferate cells. Quality Spirulina and parsley I grow on the front porch is in my diet daily. Start my increasing to 1/4 cup per day of parsley.
Life also brought me back to my Grandma’s Garden to the kitchen table. Vine Ripened Tomatoes and Green Vegetables, Mustard Greens, Collard Greens, Kale, Swiss Chard, Broccoli, Cauliflower and Butternut squash.
I married an Osteopathic Doctor and became a Holistic Health Practitioner. Many people have gotten extremely well. And many have recovered from life threatening diseases; including Cancer. My husband lived 20 years without chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery and I have been treating nodules in my breast for 5 years with alternative medicine. Mustard Seeds, Cranberries extracts, and Broccoli Tea. I like you have refused surgery, chemo therapy, and radiation. High Vitamin C, mostly. I also guard my bone health with Vitamin D3, Calcium-Magnesium–Vitamin K.
I have developed Anti Cancer Popsicle to take with You to chemo and to suck on during treatment with fruits that starve Cancer Cells and ginger for nausea. I’ve developed recipes and nutrient formulas, too. Super Food Recipes.
Activism is also in my history. Recently, I have been teaching Congress about Alternative Medicine. I also teach classes and Workshops: Combating Cancer On Your Fork to Children and Adults.
For thousands of years, plant life has been the bases of Pharmacueticals; there are many natural medicine plants to support the immune system, so it will heal its self and cause Cancer Cells to committ sucide on a daily walk.
The China Study also pointed out that animal protein increases the change in the early stages of from Cancer cells by at least 20 per cent. Other sources of proteins and Omega 3 and 6′s is what I recommend. My family also raised cattle thus we could eat beef 24 hours a day….and we did!

I have a fundraiser going on for them: http://www.partylitebiz.com/sandisangelparties
We begin to day in California putting the NO GMO’s on the ballot for the next election.
I don’t give to any of the non-profit Cancer Foundations either. They do not support what I do. And I won’t support, Cut, Poison, Burn methods either.

Jessica, I am a friend of your Uncle Russell (Rusty) to us and after meeting up with him in November last year he told me about your battle with cancer and suggested I have a look at your site. I was thrilled to watch the video of you and your Mum. I also knew your grandmother Mary, and my mother and her were really good friends. Ask your Mum if she remembers Shirley Thornton (Hughes) or Heather Colless. I myself was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2008 but have gone a different path to your Mum and had a lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy and then radiation. If I had watched your video before this time I may not have followed this path but to this date all is going fine with me. I wish you and your Mum both the very best with your choice of treatment and hope all continues going well for you both.
Good luck and I will check your site again for updates.
Regards
Janelle Box
Janelle Box » Hi Janelle, it’s great to hear from you! Thanks for checking out my site. And that’s awesome to hear all is well with you. Mum says to say hi and that she does remember your mum. Jess x
Congratulations you two. What an inspirational video. Thank you for your wisdom and guidance. We would be alot further ahead with the cancer cures if more people took note of your words. There are so many other options out there rather than the medical path. Thank you again.
Hi Jess
Can you ask Mum ” I’m 43 this year and have been changing over the last 3 years. no real dramas but was looking up Progest E Complex because I believe before I change to much more it might help, I would like to pick up my sex drive a little for one, and a few whiskers on the chin, my hormones are obviously changing, I don’t get tested because the medical system is so uneducated it scares me, they useless, not until you start to (as your Mum said Knowledge is Power)educate yourself that a saliva test is best, when all they do is your bloods. Anyway I’m not good at writing what I want to say, I tend to make a real mess of it. In short does your Mum think it would be ok if I used Progest E Complex now. You both are such beautiful people, Good Luck with your recoveries. and you made me aware of these foundations…where is our money going? Cancer is just Big Business. We need to slow down, be happy and listen to our bodies. Bless you both, Kindest regards, Julie
Julie » Hi Julie, we would recommend having your hormones tested via a saliva test to see where you might be out of balance. Judging from your symptoms, I would say that the Progest E Complex will be beneficial, but I wouldn’t start taking it until you check where your levels are at. I would suggest seeing an integrative doctor to have this test done and then go from there. Wishing you all the best!! xx
Thanks so much for getting back to me Jess, I’m from Country WA and was wondering how I find an integrative doctor. Thanks so much again
Cheers Julie
Julie » My pleasure Julie! Try doing a search here and see if you can find one close to you: http://www.naturaltherapypages.com.au/ x
Thanks so very much Jess, you really are a treasure. Love Julie
Hi, I just watched this with my little daughter who is 7 and she couldn’t believe you had cancer because you both look so well! I think your self empowerment is inspiring and I love your blog. Love to you both xxx
Hi Jess, I know you from your interview with Cyndi O’Meara. I have so much interest in nutrition and have read Healing the Gerson Way.
Recently my mom had an Xray and they found a lump on both of her breast. The next step in the coventional medicine is to get a tissue/biopsy and then we’ll know for sure whether it’s a tumor or not. If it’s non-malignant, the doctor suggested to leave it there. But if its malignant, they suggested surgery.
My question to you is: how did your mum know for sure that she got a breast cancer if she didnt do both the mammogram and the biopsy?
What’s her reason for not having both done?
We would like to buy a norwalk juicer but it is so expensive and we couldn’t even buy them here. At the moment, I am slowly introducing her to Gerson therapy.
I made oatmeal, orange and carrot juices. I havent been able to make her the green juice because we dont really have a proper juicer and that I find it hard to get the ingredients for the green juice.
I am also going to help her to make the coffee so that she could do her first enema. Unfortunately she didnt like the Hippocrates soup and she still eats white rice and her so called normal meal.
Not sure what I should do at this point cause no one in my family seems to believe in this therapy.
Christine » Hi Christine, my mum didn’t have a biopsy because it is a known fact that biopsies cause malignancy to spread and she didn’t want to risk this. She didn’t have a mammogram because these also cause malignancy to spread. She had an MRI and has also had a thermogram. She had opinions from two different breast cancer surgeons and has seen three different doctors. It is very clear to all of them that she has breast cancer based on her test results and the appearance of her breasts. This is all she needed to know before she decided to do what she needed to do to heal – which is heal her body on all levels. Surgery would not have dealt with the reasons why she has cancer, so she didn’t go for that. My mum understood that, for her body to truly heal, she needed to heal it as a whole. This is why she chose Gerson Therapy.
The Norwalk is an expensive juicer but it is definitely worth it. If you cannot buy a Norwalk, Gerson says to get a masticating juicer like a Champion, Oscar or an Angel and then use a press. The Gerson diet takes a little to get used to for some people, but I would just gently remind your mum that giving up white rice and eating Hippocrates soup (even if she doesn’t like it) is a much better option than going down the path of having your body ravaged by cancer and toxic treatments.
I hope this helps! Wishing you guys the best of luck and strength. xx
She actually did the ultrasound. At the moment they are not sure whether it’s a cyst or a tumor. What could you suggest to me as the next step?
