I’m taking a sick day
I never do this. Even when I feel slightly crappy, I will always run a post I have written in advance and then get on with other work that doesn’t require too much thinking or effort. But today is different. I woke up feeling like death, so I’m going to practice what I preach, listen to my body and spend the day resting.
I’m not sure if it’s just a cold (how the heck I get a cold on this diet is beyond me) or part of that illusive Gerson Therapy healing reaction I’ve been waiting for. Two weeks ago I felt crappy as well, with a headache and nausea. But just when I was thinking the healing reaction had arrived and that I would wake up feeling violently ill, it went away. Not fair. You probably think I’m a weirdo for actually wanting to be sick, but when you’re on Gerson it is considered a good thing. Healing reactions, or “flare ups”, mean that your body is responding to the therapy and toxins are moving from your body in such a rapid rate that they render you quite crook for a while. I have been on the full therapy for 14 months now and I’ve only had mild cases of these flare ups. I’ve had extreme mood swings and emotional purges, but nothing physically bad in comparison to some of my fellow Gerson friends. Fingers crossed this is it!
I’m off to warm up my heat pack and jump back into bed now. Well, until it’s time for my next juice and enema, anyway.
If you do happen to catch a cold this winter, here’s an old post I wrote about how to ward off the snot nose monster.
Chat to you tomorrow!

PS: On a brighter note, check out this website featuring dogs fighting with sprinklers. So cute.

Positive affirmation for the day: Today I will listen to my body. I will do what needs to be done to take care of my temple. It’s the only one I’ve got and it needs to be treated with respect.
